RTTY TUNE is one of the simplest yet most useful tools you can
have to help you receive radio-teletype and facsimile on the HF
bands.

While most RTTY decoders have tuning indicators of some sort, none
of them is as convenient as your own ears! However, you have to
know what to listen for when you are tuning in and even after many
attempts, it can be hard to remember exactly how the RTTY or FAX
signal should sound.

RTTY TUNE fixes that problem. It generates the correct RTTY and
FAX tones on your computer's speaker. Both narrow and wide RTTY
shifts are catered for.

You probably now know all that you need to use RTTY TUNE, but just
in case, I'll explain the program's operation.

When you start RTTY TUNE, it is set to NARROW shift tones, and
plays the low tone. When you hit the space bar, the tone changes
to the high tone. Hit the space bar again, and you're back to the
low tone.

RTTY signals are simply two tones transmitted very quickly one
after another. Press "P" on your keyboard to have the program
simulate the effect for you. Press "P" again to make it go back to
single tones.

For WIDE shift tones, hit the ENTER key. Hit it again to get FAX
tones, and then again to get back to NARROW shift tones.

The ESCAPE key will exit the program. Simple isn't it!
