Firmware (HEX) file and C source code for the High Visibility 6-Digit LED GPS Clock [1911015D.HEX]
HEX file and C language source code for the PIC32MX170F256B 32-bit microcontroller in the GPS-Enabled 6-Digit LED Clock.
Firmware version B (1.1) fixes a bug in the 12 hour mode.
Firmware version C (1.2) also fixes a bug in the minutes roll-over for time zones with an offset not in whole hours.
Firmware version D (1.3) fixes a regression and also adds a remote control button code to switch between local time and UTC/GMT (default: Teletext).

Six 70mm tall 7-segment Common Anode displays plus four matching diffused 5mm LEDs, to suit the High Visibility 6-Digit LED Clock project.
The digit visible size is 32.2 x 56.9mm and the part code is LBT23101BB. These are pin compatble with the Kingbright SA23-11 series. They are bright and highly efficient; see Fig.3 on page 44 of the December 2015 issue for the I/V curve.

Six 70mm tall 7-segment displays, EMERALD GREEN plus four matching 5mm LEDs
Six 70mm tall 7-segment Common Anode displays plus four matching 5mm LEDs, to suit the High Visibility 6-Digit LED Clock project.
The digit visible size is 32.2 x 56.9mm and the part code is LBT23101BGG or FJS23101DPG. These are pin compatble with the Kingbright SA23-11 series. They are bright and highly efficient; see Fig.3 on page 44 of the December 2015 issue for the I/V curve.
Note: we were originally supplying C503B-GCN-CY0C0791 LEDs which have a clear lens however we have now switched to an unknown type of green LED with the following specifications, which is an excellent match to the 7-segment displays: 515-525nm, 4000-4500mCd. Note that these are so bright that you might have to increase the current limiting resistor for the colon drive to get them to match the 7-segment display.

Six 70mm tall 7-segment Common Anode displays plus four matching diffused 5mm LEDs, to suit the High Visibility 6-Digit LED Clock project.
The digit visible size is 32.2 x 56.9mm and the part code is either CAI23101BS or SA23-11SRWA, depending on which is in stock. These are pin compatble with the Kingbright SA23-11 series. They are bright and highly efficient; see Fig.3 on page 44 of the December 2015 issue for the I/V curves.
The best-matching 5mm LEDs we can find are TLDR5400 type. These are bright and diffuse with no hint of orange.

The digit visible size is 32.2 x 56.9mm and the part code is SA23-11GWA. They are relatively bright if driven with sufficient current; see Fig.3 on page 44 of the December 2015 issue for the I/V curves.
The 5mm LEDs supplied are LTL2R3KGD which we find has a very similar colour. LTL2R3KG are a close second.

Blue 5mm LED with diffused lens (25mm leads)
A high-brightness blue LED in a 5mm through-hole package with standard lead length (25mm) and diffused lens. Quite good brightness at 3V and can be driven with just a few milliamps.

Each file contains the paths to cut to make a complete case and can be fed to a laser cutter.
The overall dimensions are 341.504 x 215.951mm and you should check this before proceeding with cutting as there can sometimes be scaling issues when importing these files.
