Firmware (BAS and HEX) files for the DAB+/FM/AM Radio project
This download includes the MMBasic source code for the DAB+/FM/AM radio along with the firmware files for radio chip IC1 and a .HEX file which includes MMBasic itself, the BASIC code and a default touchscreen configuration.
The file "Alt_DAB_Radio_Firmware_v1.0.zip" is an alternative version of the MMBasic code for the DAB+/FM/AM radio developed by Stefan Keller-Tuberg (see Mailbag, October 2020, pages 4 & 5).
The file "Alt_DAB_Radio_Firmware_v3.zip" is a later version from Stefan Keller-Tuberg which provides higher quality AM reception and some other improvements (see Mailbag, April 2021, pages 4 & 6).

Dual Horizontal PCB-mounting RCA sockets (white/red) [RCA-210]
These RCA sockets are similar to the discontinued Altronics P0213 and suit the DAB+/FM/AM Radio PCB.
They have an RCA-210 footprint.

A PCB-mounting SMA socket with a shaft around 13-14mm long, suitable for the VHF input of the DAB+/FM/AM radio.

465mm fulled extended, 190mm minimum length. Ideal for DAB+ reception; should work OK for FM but a longer antenna would be better for FM.

DAB+/FM/AM Radio main PCB [06112181]
The latest version of the main PCB for the DAB+/FM/AM Radio project.
Double-sided PCB with plated through holes, solder mask and silkscreen overlay.
If you order this item, you will get the bare board. Nothing else is supplied or fitted. If you want a board with more components pre-soldered, order Cat SC4896 (IC1 only fitted) or SC4897 (IC1 & surrounding components fitted).
Note: you will also need to purchase the components for this board plus the Explore 100 module (http://www.siliconchip.com.au/Shop/20/3834) to complete the electronics. We have a separate kit of parts which provides some of the remaining SMDs on this board (Cat SC4904), plus we also sell a short-form kit for the Explore 100 without LCD (Cat SC3834), the dual RCA socket (Cat SC4850) and some extendable VHF whip antennas (Cat SC4847 & SC4875).

DAB+/FM/AM Radio main PCB pattern (PDF download) [06112181 RevC]

This is the main board, which is double-sided. Note that due to the fine pitch of the tracks and the numerous small vias, this would be virtually impossible to etch yourself. The file is provided for reference purposes only.
Both layers are in a single PDF.

Short Form Kit for the Micromite Plus Explore 100
Kit of all parts to build the Micromite Plus Explore 100 EXCEPT for the screen and power supply.
Includes PCB and programmed microcontroller along with all other onboard parts (except for the optional ones) and mounting hardware, besides the TFT touchscreen.
