Electronics has brought about great changes in motor vehicles, especially in regard to fuel
consumption, emissions, safety and comfort.
Almost all functions today are controlled and monitored
electronically. The cooling system in the engine has been the exception.
The German company Bosch is now developing electronically
controlled thermal management for the engine. This is expected to reduce fuel
consumption by up to five percent and also raise the heating comfort within the
vehicle by controlling the temperature in the passenger area faster and more
evenly.
