Firmware (HEX) file and documents for the Micromite Mk.2 and Micromite Plus
Firmware, user manuals, change log and sample C functions for the Micromite Mk.2 and Micromite Plus (v5.05.03).
The regular Micromite HEX file will work on the 28-pin DIP package chip (PIC32MX170F256B) and the 44-pin SMD chip (PIC32MX170F256D).
It's also suitable for the MicroMite LCD BackPack including V2 and V3. See the articles in the January 2015, February 2016 and August 2019 issues for more details.
The Micromite Plus HEX file will work on the 64-pin and 100-pin TQFP package chips (PIC32MX470F512H/L).

CP2102-based USB/TTL serial converter with microUSB socket and 6-pin right-angle header
Note: that there is a separate CP2102 that comes with jumper cable, 5-pin header and a regular USB connector. This is used for other projects and the respective details can be found here: http://www.siliconchip.com.au/Shop/7/3437
A small USB/serial converter module with a microUSB connector - no cable included. Can be used to build the Touchscreen Appliance Energy Meter or to add a USB port to another project which uses an RS-232 TTL serial interface.
Modern operating systems like Windows 10 should not require any drivers to use this device - plug it in and it should be recognised and ready to use straight away.
We have only tested this adaptor in Windows; it should work with Linux and Mac OSX.
Please note: we have had reports that the 3.3V output is actually closer to 4.2V. You should check this voltage before connecting anything critical.

CP2102-based USB/TTL serial converter with microUSB socket and 6-pin right-angle header (clone version)
Please note: this is a clone version which works but the 3.3V output is actually closer to 4.2V. We have reduced the price because of this.

DS3231-based Real Time Clock & Calendar module with mounting hardware
A DS3231-based RTCC module with onboard I²C pull-up resistors and pin header interface. Included in the pack are two 10mm M2 Nylon tapped spacers and four 6mm M2 Nylon machine screws for mounting.
Note 1: no cell is supplied with the module. It is designed to use a rechargeable cell. You can use a CR2032 (or similar) Lithium button cell but in this case you MUST remove the SMD diode to prevent the battery from being charged. See the Super Clock article in the July 2016 issue for more details.
Note 2: as this module has onboard pull-up resistors for the I²C bus, you may need to remove them, or avoid fitting pull-up resistors on the master, for it to share a bus with other peripherals.
